City council member duties
As elected officials, we create governing policies and set the vision for the City of Frisco with our Annual Top Ten Priorities. As a public servant and representative in one of the fastest-growing cities in the US, I spend much of my time with constituents, getting to know them, hearing their concerns, and solving their pain points.
According to the City Charter for Frisco, TX, the Mayor and City Council members are the governing body that serve as the head of City Government. As elected officials, we create governing policies and set the vision for the City of Frisco with our Annual Top Ten Priorities.
We each serve on subcommittees including Budget and Audit, Governance, Legislative, Emergency Preparedness, and others to provide input and oversight. We also appoint the City Judge and hire the City Manager, whose primary responsibility is to manage all city business and execute on the Council priorities within our approved annual budget and with qualified staff.
Our City Council meetings take place twice a month, but my role as a City Council member is not limited to meetings in City Hall. As a public servant and representative in one of the fastest-growing cities in the US, I spend much of my time with constituents, getting to know them, hearing their concerns, and solving their pain points.
I attend many ribbon cuttings and groundbreaking events, as well as speak at celebrations and public functions as an ambassador for the City of Frisco. It is an honor to represent not only our great city, but also as the first Asian-American woman on Frisco City Council.
